Photo Taken Yesterday at merienda time.

My heart will always be of the shape of a Mango because I will always have this special Love for this fruit! The Philippine Mango, Mangga as we call it in Tagalog, are known to be the sweetest throughout the world. And I guarantee you that you don't have to taste each and every Mango in every spot in the world just to give credit to that saying.

By the end of each February, fruit stands all over Cavite and also the nearby provinces are starting to be loaded with these bright sunny yellow hearts of different sizes and different shapes. Ranging from the smallest padera that are bite size, to the piko the medium sized just like the ones on the photo and to the biggest types which is kalabaw , litteraly Carabao or Buffalo, named after its large size. But no matter the size, Philippine Mangoes are all but SWEET!

If only I could give samples together with this Blog Post, I would just to share you how magical the sweetness of these Mangoes truly are!

By the way, all the Mangoes used in this shot are all consumed on a single meal by no other than myself :)

Photo Shot Yesterday at Daybreak on my way to UPLB

It has been almost 5 months since I got back here at Cavite Daily Photo and a lot of things happened, Major things happened.

But first of all, I would like to dedicate this post to all the Victims and the whole Nation of Japan! We are all here, united, for one reason, praying for Japan's fast recovery! Yesterday's Sun here in the Philippines, like in this photo I shot on my Van ride at the town of Carmona, was truly Japanese especially when you see it in person. For sure it says to everyone that we should all do our best to help Japan and the Japanese People even in our very own, simplest manner, our Prayers. May God Bless Japan and I am very sure they can rise back again in no time!

Of the five months I wasn;t here on Cavite Daily Photo, something terrible happened and was truly hard for me even until now, My Mother died. It was January 1, new year's day when we rushed her to the hospital. After 10 days, January 11th, she finally laid to rest in God's hands after almost an 8 year fight with Renal Failure. She is the strongest person I have ever met and I am very thankful to God and to my Mom because I am sure that one of her reasons that she held on to her disease and fought is because she wanted to be there on the Best day of my life, My Graduation Day. She was there and she was very very much proud of me! Mommy, just as always, everything I do is for God's Glory and you and Daddy's Pride! Even if your not with me now Physically, my goal in making you proud stays living and will truly and forever will.

Also, I got myself in and University of the Philippines Los Banos, one of the Top Schools in our Country, granted my Application to continue my studies further. I am currently taking up Master of Science in Computer Science while pursuing my teaching career at my Alma Mater, DLSU-D

I am very much happy with this comeback and may all of you celebrate with me with this matter. Thank you all so much and I am very much excited to see you all, my friends, here again on Cavite Daily Photo! Mabuhay and God Bless us all!

November 3, 2010
Photo above was taken during our All Saint's Day celebration last November 1st.

This is where the body of my Grandfather lies at Saint Francis of Assisi Memorial Park here at General Trias, Cavite. I have posted a little about him last January on my post A Great Man Named Sam .

Every November 1st, Filipinos flock to their Loved Ones's Cemeteries and Memorial Parks to Celebrate All Saint's Day. Every Niche becomes a place where Families, other even go home from abroad, to reunite with each other. Each of their own places are placed with typical Flowers and Candles to Honor their Ancestors. But for us Chinese Families, we never ran out of fruits and other food items as offerings to our Ancestors. So in lieu of the Flowers, we used these fruits such as Grapes, Apples and our Native Lanzones as decorations. All the people passing by our place at the Park can't help but stop and stare at my Lolo's Niche. Different Decorations, Different Styles, One Reason, to honor our Loved Ones the Filipino Way.

My Grandfather was born in Fujian Province, People's Republic of China. He left his country while he was still a teenager and went to the Philippines to try his life here in the mid 1930's. He tried so hard in his early years in the Philippines just like his fellow Chinese Nationals who came here. He met my Grandmother Genoveva, now of good health at the age of 82, while they are still very young and they decided to start a family together. They had Seven Children, Gaudencio, Josefina, Carlito, Elenita, my father Ernesto, Benjamin, and Evangelina. They all have their own Chinese names but being born in the Philippines, they all use their Hispanic Christian names.

They strive so hard to get the life that we enjoy right now. All of these are fruits from all of their labor and I am truly proud of my Lolo and Lola, Grandma and Grandpa in Filipino. If I have to live my life again, I would definitely ask the Lord for one single thing, and that is to be their Grandson!

November 2, 2010

These kids really did "Meet for trick or Treat" last night at the Memorial Park. They were roving from niche to niche and asking for some goodies from families that are spending time along the Cemetery to commemorate their deceased loved ones.

Popular in the US, Trick or Treat is usually done during the Night of the Halloween or according to "The Worst Witch" One of my Childhood Favorite TV Series, during Punky Night. It is now slowly practiced by the kids here in the Philippines as well but of course, in Philippine Culture, the main event always happen during November 1st or during the All Saint's Day which I'll be talking about on tomorrow's post!

It's a bit of a shame because my Blog is titled 'Daily' but I'm still very proud that after more than 2 years, Cavite Daily Photo has just Celebrated it's 150th post last October 29th (my last post) Congratulations to me, to this Blog and most of all, Congratulations to all my supporters because together, we all reached our 150th post! To all my City Daily Photo Bloging friends, without you and your encouragements, Cavite Daily Photo would never have lasted 50 posts, You are all my inspiration!

Photo Shot last Night at the Saint Jude Thaddeus Annual Procession

Saint Jude Thaddeus is the Patron saint of Trece Martirez City, the Capital of the Province of Cavite and also, the Patron Saint of our Family. It is our Family's devotion, especially my Brother, to lead on the annual Celebration of Saint Jude's Feast. A 9-Day Novena is celebrated every morning from the 20th of October until the Feast Day on the 28th where a Town Procession of the Saint is held around the Town Proper of General Trias.

As we all know, Cavite is full of Catholic Christian Traditions and one important tradition is the Procession of Saints that are held every Town Fiesta and during the Feast of important Saints. It is always a good sight every night with all the lines of people with candles but it is best to be part of the Procession and Pray for your Intentions to Saint Jude and to our Lord Jesus Christ

Photo shot at Sunset last Tuesday Afternoon

Since I have started Cavite Daily Photo, I have always been more and more curious and much more sensitive to the scenes around me especially with Nature and the Environment. One thing I have learned is that Sunsets are truly best viewed here in the Philippines during months of March and September. During these Months, Skies are not just Fiery, they're painted with Amazing Indigos and Striking Magentas to Bright Stunning Tangerines.

Just like the photo above, Who would not want to just stare at the sky, Thank God for the Beauty of our World, and Pray that a lot of other people are currently setting their eyes on what you are experiencing at that very moment!

I'm that if you adored my photo above, you would want to see other beautiful views of the skies around the Globe right? So just click on the Skywatch Friday Link : http://www.skyley.blogspot.com/ and you surely are bound to a Sky World Tour.

Beautiful Brick colored walls make up this newly renovated Saint Agustine Parish at Mendez, Cavite. Mendez is a Town located at the Upland Region of Cavite. Just beside Tagaytay City, it enjoys a cool climate all year round.  People are truly friendly and very welcoming just like what real Caviteños are.

The roads on this Town are very narrow but they are asphalt paved and very nice to all types of vehicles. Its cleanliness is also commended by locals from other Towns and even tourists that pass by the Town.

It's so nice to be back at Daily Photo Blogging! Been busy with the Students and the past Midterm Examinations. But I'm here! And After 2 years since Cavite Daily Photo Began at May 5, 2008 here at Blogger, I now have a new Template/Layout. Have a great Week ahead Everyone!

Photo shot about a month ago at Ilog Maria Farms, Silang, Cavite

I Love Windmills! This one was shot at Ilog Maria Bee Farms at Silang, Cavite, One of the highland towns in the Province. It was very Hazy that day and on that very moment, the rain is about to start. It has been very rainy this past month here in the Philippines and even a storm came by to whack the Country. It was one of the strongest Storms I experienced though it only lasted for a few hours starting midnight, the winds were really really strong! My Windows kept banging and banging and I can't sleep out of worry. Even my Bamboo garden was not exempted! Though as to every Filipino, these problems are just worth a smile. We are all born with Sunshines on our Lips :)

I would also like to Thank each and every one for all those Wonderful comments on my Latest Theme Day Post Yesterday! I was truly touched by all your kind words and I felt really welcome even if my posting has been on and off! Hope this would mark up a new beginning to a routine of Daily Photo Posting! God Bless us all!

Photo Above shows my very own Spanish National Football Team Gear. One of my possessed Treasures.

First Of all, I would Love to shout what I have been shouting for almost a month now from the Very Beginning of the World Cup 2010, VIVA ESPAÑA! I will always be Spain's Number One fan here in the Philippines because honestly, They are the reason why I started watching Football a few couple of years ago and they're the reason why I love the Game! Just seeing David Villa and his goals makes my whole week!

If there is one single country in the world that can be named where football is not a Frenzy, that would be the Philippines. We Have a lot of sports fancied here including Basketball and most Especially where we can truly be proud of, Boxing! But Football is never a statement here in our Country but I am quite happy that this past year, Football is starting to have a name!
I've been a fan of the Spanish Team for more than a Year now and I am really really Happy about them winning this World Cup! My friends are even teasing me that Spain would never even advance to the Top 16 but my beliefs with my team can never be hindered! I'm in love with the Team I must Say! Every time they have a match, I never ever watched it live because I thought I might give them Bad Luck so I always watch it after the results are aired! Win after win after win makes me so proud! Even my Co-Teachers (Yes, I am now a Professor at DLSU-D, My Alma Mater) are telling Spain is no match to Germany during their Semis and when Spain won, The smile on my face can never be worn out because of so much Joy! Even one of them kept on telling me it was just Plain Luck! But I know It's not! Spain has always been laying as a TEAM! A team focused on bringing joy and pride to their country and all their fans!

But this very last match against the Netherlands, Here's my story. The match happened at 2:30 am Philippine Time so I decided not to watch it (just as I said earlier that I might give bad luck to my team). Then I woke up at around 4:30 believing that the match is over. Then I excitedly Opened my Phone and checked on the results but our WiFi was not in a good mood so Luckily, I still have some Prepaid Load left that I used to check on the results. There it is, 0:0. I was wondering still who won so I went on to Yahoo! But still it's 0:0! So I came to think that the match may not have ended yet and at the blink of the eye, my phone refreshed on it's own and it read 1:0 in favor of ESPAÑA! I wanted to shout so loud but the people in our house might get awake so I went out and there I shouted! Hahaha Then I thought that it was Minute 116 and there's just 4 minutes left! I started to think That I WAS THE GOOD LUCK during this match that at the very moment I checked on the scores, Iniesta did his Winning Goal! The Joy I'm feeling right now for my Team will never be expired for the whole week or the whole month I guess! This is Spain's very First Title and I really feel Proud that I'm quite a part of it staying true to them and believing in them for every match they fought!

VIVA ESPAÑA! SOY MUY ORGULLOSO POR MI EQUIPO! POR NUESTRO EQUIPO!!! EL EQUIPO DE ESPAÑA ES LOS MEJORES DEL MUNDO!!!

Photo was taken yesterday on my Birthday Celebration at Tagaytay City, One of my Favorite Places in the world! We went for Dinner at Tootsie's Tagaytay where you can see their Specialty, Lengua. Lengua is a Classic Filipino Dish, of course from Spanish Traces which is made of Tenderized, and I do mean TENDER, Ox's Tongue. It is my favorite dish so what else to order than the Classic Lengua. What made their Lengua different from the other is the addition of Green and Black Olives and I can really taste the Garlic without its much strength! To top it all off, It was delish. Go and Try Tootsie's Tagaytay and Before you take a glance at their Menu, tell the kind waiter's the magic word, LENGUA!

Now We go to the post's Title. It was my 20th Birthday yesterday! It was really fun! I got to Dine out with Mom, Dad and Cousin Judy and it was very great! We are natural gourmands and we always love trying all kinds of foods no matter the price or the looks, for us, Food is not just a means of survival nor a lifestyle, it's Art! We never Eat, We Dine...

From the Bottom of my heart, and in behalf of Cavite Daily Photo, Thank you all so much for being a great part of my first 20 years! I am much looking forward for a lot more years and a lot more friendships I made through this Blog! You are all the Life of this Project! God Bless us all!

I have just done counting down My Favorite Survivors that made up the 20th till the 16th spot. Now It's Time for the Next five Castaways that did not make it to the Top 10. 15 - 11 Here we go:
(PS I think I changed my 3rd - 15th like a hundred times, That's how close they are to my preference)

15. Jake Billingsley, Thailand

Old man Jake from Thailand. Why did he make it on the list? Well, I have always been rooting for older people ever since I started watching Survivor during the Marquesas Season. Yup, that might give you an idea for the coming spots on my countdown. Jake has been underrated, in my opinion, throughout the show. Thailand may have brought the strongest number of older people that made it to the latter half including Jake, Jan, Clay and Helen. Also Jan, Clay and Helen may be the oldest Top 3 ever. But the thing I really like the most of Jake is despite his age, he still managed to play the game with hopes all high and being true to hos word and his alliance. Even though he knew that his former and only tribemate Penny is also gunning for him to save herself, he still did not vote for her because he remained Loyal to his tribe till the very end but it ended up that Penny went out on that very Tribal Council, earlier than him. His exit was really dramatic for me.

14. Courtney Yates, China

Who does not love Courtney? Ok, Ok, there may be few but me, I LOVE HER! Just all her side comments on every scene just makes me so laugh! I was not able to watch her during her China season due to poor telecast by the Franchise that time and we still don't have a great internet connection to get the episodes, but I really really loved her during her comeback at Heroes vs. Villains. She brought so much energy, so much fun and I should not forget, the outfits. I think she is the jury member that has so much exposure during Tribal Councils since she became part of the Jury. Love her!

13. Danielle DiLorenzo, Panama

At first, scanning through the names of the castaways that made it to the list of Heroes vs. Villains, I was like WTH? When I saw Danielle's name. I did not hate her because she was a villain that time but then I came to realize, betraying Cirie and Aras and merging up with Terry? Beating Cirie on that Fire-making Challenge? Making it to the Top 3? Well I guess he deserves the spot. But then, when the 20th Season started, I saw how drastic her change was when it comes to her game play. She's way way better than the last time she played it. Made a strong Alliance with Russel and Parvati and should have been in the Final three not until Russell had the urges to cut her out. But in the end, though it was the reason she got voted out, the loyalty she showed to Parvati was really uplifting for me that's why she made it here.

12. Amanda Kimmel, China

I never really like Amanda during her first two seasons but when she made it to the Heroes Tribe, Then I started to like her not just on that season but I came to a realization how likeable she was during her last games. Though she may be close to James, which is on the number 1 spot if I had to list down the most dreadful players. I really respected her loyalty.

11. Colby Donaldson, Australia

I think the best thing about Colby is that every girl wants him and Every guy wants to be like him! But I have to say, his performance during the Challenges, it was very very pitiful. Compared to his Five Consecutive Immunity wins during his Australia season that made him part of the Final 2 but made the wrong choice to bring up Tina than Keith that made him loose the lot. He's a very nice guy who played the game being nice to everyone as well which made him be the very last Hero standing against all the Villains. I guess he deserves to be the last Herostanding out of the other four JT, Amanda, Candice and Rupert that made it to the merge. Ok, Rupert fans are gonna kill me but that's my opinion!

There you have it! My Top 20 - 11! stay tuned for my Top 10! Who knows I might shuffle them over and over again but I think right now, my choices are firm. I just Love Survivor! It's the best Game ever invented in the face of the world! See you till Part 3!

Okay, You guys now why I'm back right? The moment everyone is waiting for (Or must I say ANYONE?) especially Survivor fans, My Second half of my Top 20 Favorite Survivor Castaways. As I count down my Top 10 up to Top 6, we are getting closer and closer to my Top 5 (Of course! What am I saying?) So with no further adieu My Top 10 to Top 6:

10. JT Thomas, Tocantins

Okay, so who doesn't like JT? Uhm okay, I can see hands, and another one, and another one. I do, I also think he can battle with Tom Westman for being the Most Likable Survivor Winner. But after what he did during the Heroes vs. Villains Season, well yah, I'm sure we can put back what I just told. Though I really thought it was kind of dumb, okay really dumb, It comes to show that JT has a very good Heart, a country guy's heart that was very compassionate. Though with the wrong person I'm sure! I still like him, a man of Values.

9. Stephanie LaGrossa, Palau

Me and my friends predicted that she will not last the 20th season but I do like Steph so much. She is totally a hero during her Palau Season and I think that is why people just love her! Again, a victim of 100% Villain, James the Giant which should be ousted first so that the heroes should have gone far...Wait wait, this is about Stephanie, not James. Anyway, I just love her, She's a true Hero!

8. Russell Hantz, Samoa

Then you guys are going to kill me! Russell? Part of my Favorites? IN THE TOP 10? Well what can I do, having to witness one of the Best Game Players ever in the history of Survivor (ADMIT IT GUYS, HE REALLY IS!) Planting all those 'Russell Seeds' And roasting them one by one by one Without even knowing it? Ain't he Great? Well If that's what I think? Then why is he not on a higher place on my Top 20? Well, as everybody knows, Values really count as for me. It's very nice to be competitive, come on it's a game! But telling lies that are not even necessary and just being plain deceitful? That's not really a good thing for me. Though I think he really marked his name on Survivor History!

7. Tom Westman, Palau

So far, I can confidently say, He is the most Likable Survivor Winner ever! As far as I know Okay? He defied the odds with his head up high and played the whole thing clean. Too bad He was cut out very very soon during the Heroes vs. Villains Season, again because of you know who, let's keep him with the name JAMES THE MONSTER. Tom is the kind of man anyone can look upon with his Values, Virtues and all other good thing that makes him the Tom we know. And that earned him the 7th spot!

6. Parvati Shallow, Cook Islands

She lead the Most Notorious All women tribe in Survivor History. I think all is said why she made it to my Top 6! She should have placed higher but on the later part of this series, You fans will know why! Another reason why she made it on my Top 10 is that she is very very Charming plus when she said on her Final tribal statement last Season that she did feel vulnerable during the merge that's why she kicked ass during the Immunity Challenges to save herself, that gained her more respect from me!

The last part of my Survivor Series features my Top 5 Favorite Survivor Castaways of all Time. But of course, as Homer Simpson says, SO FAR since there's still more a lot of seasons to come on the best Social Game ever invented on the Face of television, SURVIVOR!

Blog EntryMay 27, '10 9:57 PM
for everyone
So I just counted down my Top 20 till the Survivor Castaway that made it to the 6th Spot of my All Time Favorite Survivors. As I told you on the earlier parts of the series, I had a hard time deciding and finalizing my Tops 15 to 3 because they all are so close to each other when it comes to my preference but hey! I made it. And here comes my Top 5 Favorites. In Descending Order:

5. Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien, Marquesas

Together with Neleh and Paschal, they've been switched up from Rotu to Maraamu and gave Maraamu and Gina they're first taste of Victory during the Show's fourth Season. She made it to the Top 3 and the final member of the Jury but was ousted out when Neleh and Vecepia made the 'negotiations' during the very long Final Immunity. Though of age, Kathy showed so much strength and true leadership until the very end. She has been a key player during her Marquesas Season which truly made her deserving of her spot on the All-Star Season at Panama.

4. Rob Cesternino, Amazon

For me, He was the very first who knew how to 'really play' the Game of Survivor. Making up alliances, remained Loyal during the start and secretly made other alliances to slowly oust his own one by one by one and that was the reason he made it to the End but sadly, not the Finals since Jenna chose Matthew over Him to take to with her to the finals. I can never ever forget the scene when he was sleeping by the tree while the others were talking secretively but one of his eyes slowly opened which proved he was not really asleep, he is gently observing.

3. Paschal English, Marqeusas

Together with Kathy and Runner-up Neleh, Paschal was the three original members of Rotu which then were switched to the Maraamu Tribe until their merge and most of all, made it till the final four. I personally think He had the title as Sole Survivor in his bag but unfortunatley, and I do mean UNFORTUNATELY, after a Tie Breaker between Neleh and Vecepia, He himself would have to partake on the drawing of colored rocks to determine who is going home. I can still remember the anxiety attack I had while the three of them gently opened their palms. The two girls both got Yellow Colored stones while He, got the Purple one which means He is out and was the second to the last member of the Jury. I always got a special interest on older Castaways because I really find them inspiring. And Paschal truly did inspire me.

2. Sandra Diaz-Twine, Pearl Islands

Okay, now on the top 2 slots, these two are undoubtedly my Top 2! No other! Why Sandra? I just love the way she plays her game! Her game is just Sandra's Game, no other Survivor can win Twice out of Two Seasons she made it to the game. Most of all, all the scheming and the stealth she used to win Survivor Pearl Islands gave her 0 out-votes which is truly amazing. And on the Heroes vs. Villains Season, I can only laugh at Russell when He said that Sandra did not do Anything and made it to the Finals! I was wondering what he felt when he saw what Sandra did to take out Coach when it was her time. Oh How I love Sandra! I'll just leave you with her Prime Principle on Playing Survivor: "I don't care who's gonna get voted out! I'll write anybody's name, UNLESS IT'S NOT ME WHO'S GOING HOME!"

1. Cirie Fields, Panama
"To everyone who's in the couch, STAY IN THE COUCH!" Those were the words of my Top Favorite Survivor Castaway Cirie Fields during the first parts of her Exile Island: Panama Season. Who would not love her? Being "Scared of Leaves", she was the very first target of the Tribe of Older women but It ended up that Tina was out and she stayed. She kicked some ass and whiled minds up until she made it to the Final Four were she was beaten out by Danielle on a Fire-making Tie Breaker. She was a big contender during that season even up until she made in on the List, the second time around when she became part of the 16th Season of Survivor, Micronesia:Fans vs. Favorites. She was part of the Notorious Tribe of women led by Parvati. I was happy she was part of the Final Three until we were all surprised that it would be a Final Two. Then again, her hopes of winning was cut out short on the very end. Again, I personally think she was going to win that very Season but Parvati got the Title and the Million Dollars. But the biggest disappointment to us Cirie Fans was her early exit during the Heroes vs. Villains Season where JT plotted against her that led to her premature Exit.

There you have it! 10 years, 20 Seasons, 20 Survivors, 20 Favorites but there can only be one of them of all time! I am very proud to be a Survivor Fan and of course, Very Thankful for the invention of the Best Social Game in the Face of the Earth, SURVIVOR! Until the next 20 Seasons!

for everyone
May 24, 2010

It was a very sunny day when we went to the Imus Cathedral at Imus, Cavite. When you get inside the Cathedral, the first thing you will notice is the Dark-Ages France style designs on the upper parts of the walls and the trusses up until the altar.  Upon the walls are embossed Latin words which are important to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

The whole of Cavite is under the Diocese of Imus. The Diocese was canonically erected on April 1962. The Imus Cathedral or the Cathedral Parish of Our Lady of the Pillar serves as the seat of the diocese.

In 2011, the Diocese of Imus will celebrate their Golden Jubilee as diocese since their establishment in 1961
